John F. Kennedy
After learning about missile sites being built by the Soviets on Cuba, Kennedy secretly met with his closest advisors to discuss the best solution to the problem. Deciding the best course of action would be to execute a naval blockade around the island of Cuba, Kennedy addressed the American people over television on October 22, 1962. After much negotiations with Nikita Khrushchev, the two superpowers agreed on a deal to end the crisis.
